Last week a friend of mine posted this up at her status on Facebook. It was clearly a chain letter message that was being passed around.

Ok so maybe MySpace is not dead yet but the writing is on the wall and it is Facebook’s wall. Visits to MySpace fell by nearly 50% in the last 6 months. (Sep2010-Feb2011).

Recently MySpace did a much needed overhaul of the site and traffic is up from the low point but not enough to stem the tide. MySpace is starting to empty. Sure all the same content and Pages still exist and new pages are still being created but things do not look good.

Much has been written about Google Slap the seemingly abusive action taken by Goolge “against” businesses using Ad Words to run PPC (pay per click) ad campaigns.

But once you understand what is really happening you will see that it is not a mean act and it is good for your business.

The reason Google Slap is good for your business is simple, Google wants everyone to play by the rules. If you play by the rules you won’t get slapped. If your competition doesn’t follow the rules they will get slapped and you will definitely come out ahead.
